everything is great, the fact that you dont have to be a member for 6 months just to participate in alot of stuff also the 5gig worth of service manuals.. AWESOME. This is my first day so if the mods are also fair, then this forum is perfect.

My only concerns though (just minor),

when i click on a topic, the whole page wont display until all the data from that particular page has loaded which means u dont see the page loading (streaming in real time), it makes it a bit slower which is no good. This is great for broadband users, but i think you should change the code so that everyone can benefit. I am also with broadband but i have a 256/128k connection with internode so im not as fast as you adsl2 users and i still see the slowness of the site. It would be great if this was changed.

Also when i hover over a link or topic i want to be able to get a blurb of what it is about. I would love this feature implemented so that i can get a glimpse of whats inside and will help me decide more whether its worth clicking. Just makes life easier.

Again its a great forum so far considering its early stages.

Also i would like a civic or CRX section.

I also believe if we fixed up the topics more maybe merge a few together, because having more doesnt neccesarrliy mean its better. Infact i like it more simple so that i know exactly where i posted and its easier to track things.

Great job.

Hey mercury, thanks for your concerns, with regards to the way each page loads up, I’m having that checked out now, but your right my self or anyone else hasn’t really noticed this as we all have mega fast connections…. But if optimization can be done, it will be done. Thanks for your feedback !

With regards to post previews… I’m not sure if the forum software supports this or not, but ill look into it.

As for the reason why we haven’t got specific car forum sections for al makes and models, we saw Hondatech as a technical website, not a specific car make / model forum website, if the need arises for specific forums it will created. Although the forum is centered around technical information, and 90% of technical information applies for ALL makes and models.

With regards to moderation, our rules are very simple, no negative comments towards any person or products. We only seek positive attitudes here on Hondatech, people who will help other people, not start trouble by being negative in any degree. And no negative behavior such as replying to a post with “search” will be tolerated, if someone asks a question they didn’t ask for a reply of “search” id much rather see the person supplied with a link or a copy / paste to there answer than a rude reply of “search” we all were new to technical information once !

Apart from that there are no real rules! Hopefully you and everyone else enjoys Hondatech.com.au

The feedback from the forum software makers is, the loading it due to how you configure IE.

IE can see the page as one whole table, and only displays tables once fully loaded. Fire-fox web browser on the other hand, displays tables as there loading.
Hopefully with the release of IE 7 Microsoft will fix up the way there software loads tables.

Suggestion try swapping from using IE to Firefox and see how much faster things load up.
