View Full Version : Accord Euro Brake Shuddder

 My Euro shudders under light brakes on a quite steep downhill run. Doesn't show any signs of rotor warping otherwise. Dealer says it is common and that maching the rotors probably won't fix it. Will drilled rotors solve the problem? Has anyone else had the problem? Seems to me like a recall is warranted.
Cheers and Thanks....

HI thanks for your question, hmm interesting problem you have there, if Honda release a technical article then yes it might be a warranty calm but I haven’t herd of owners complaining of issue your stating… it could be 101 items causing the problem but yeah trying to diagnose it via the internet is not really going to happen.. if your local to Melbourne tho feel free to drop past and show me the problem more than happy to look at it for you.

Sounds very similar to a problem i had honda told me the same story and after measuring run out of the discs which turned out to be very minimal i decided to have them machined any way. The result was quite dramatic i would say 90% is gone after the machining not 100% but still a lot better than what it was

Yes by machining the discs it will solve the problem but might pay to get the discs measurement first incase there thick enough to machine, otherwise replacing is the next option, get afew Euros/Accord v6's at work as i work for Honda with that issue.
Good luck!!

This problem is common for Honda... Even my Odyssey(RB1) and my frens FN2R has the same problem.
One way to resolve it permanently is by going aftermarket.. installing BBK (Brembo, Alcon, VTTR....)
Yep I have the same problem 06 euro, not as bad now though, comes and goes....no luck with the dealership aswell, time to change and get rid of these crappy dealerships I go too. I put it down too cheap pads, heard that changing pads to aftermarket ones e.g. hawk/endless pads gets rid of the problem.

Iv started doing small mods and the first were a new set of original pads with a set of DBA 4000 series 6x6 wiper slots front and back and new brake fluid. Havent realy been slamming the brakes but I have notice a small difference is stoppng distance.

After driving HARD for 10-15 min. oem brakes heat up and have trouble stopping, from experience :shifty: . I drive my car hard all of the time, lol.
You'll notice a big difference with better brakes when your brakes get hot, when you need them most.
I've spoken to alot of other euro drivers and everyone claiming oem pads are crap not the actual discs themselves, most using hawk brake pads. Consider changing pads when you due for pads next time, I'm sure you'll notice a difference.
Where they expensive the rotors ? Are the rotors the same size front and rear ? I'm considering changing mine in the not to distant future aswell. I seem to be going through brakes pretty quick lol

Same size as the original and fits straight on with no drama. You can get slotted or cross drilled.
