I get my new Nighthawk Black CTR tomorrow!!
Anybody get the Ipod adapter ? I'm reading that the old honda music-link one sucks... apparently its been replaced now but google is no help with info here....
I'm worried that it won't allow me direct control of the Ipod whilst its plugged in - the dealer told me it will but we all know what dealers are like....
Also - do you guys think dropping in an amp, sub and new front speakers (in factory locations) will void my warranty ?

Well done on buying your Civic I know you will love it, I sure love mine and it’s a very surprising little car as I found out yesterday. With regards to warranty typically if you replace a item the stock item wont be covered under warranty any more, but no reason why the rest of the car would not be under warranty still.

ok fair enough....
btw its adrian here - i spoke to you the ohter morning about ITR DC5s.. i wanted to test drive the CTR just for an alternative to the DC5, and i walked away owning one...
not that i didn't like the dc5, but i was more looking for all round package... with the current state of my drivers license i think the CTR will be enough to keep me busy for the next few years whilst i regain my precious points...
anyway - pick mine up this arvo...
ps - i read over at the ******* forums that people are noticing their paint chips fairly easily... have you noticed this with your black one ?

I am sure replacing parts SHOULD not effect warranty of other parts of the vehicle, although I do believe its dealer description, its kinda a gray area. But if something fails on your car due to you changing something which is directly related then Honda would argue not to pay for sure, but if for instance you install an LSD in your gear box and then have rear suspension issues due to a faultily shock I would highly doubt Honda would have a issue with that. Again it’s all about who you talk to, and how you act and respond to the service department.
As for paint chips, none. Car is perfect although it only has 200km+ on it currently.
As for comparing the DC5r to the FN2 the FN2 with regards to engine performance is far superior, but more on that to come though with my performance review which ill post up soon.

yea i guess that explains a lot. i got a warranty job done on my old civic which would have costed me well over a grand. they had to replace 1st and reverse gear on my old gearbox and the bearings. they looked at the mods i did which was larger alloys (up from 15" to 17") and new air filter and decided that it wouldnt have any affect on the gearbox. so i got it under warranty. phew
