i have a supercharger and a t-28 turbo that i want to put on to my em1 but not too sure which one will be better. the turbo is off a sr20 and the supercharger is off a accord vti (94 model i believe). i know wat mods i need to do if i choose turbo but wat about supercharger?

i would go turbo still costly i guess but would probably run smoother on the honda and also the aftermarket part scene would be much better for a turbo honda than a supercharged one :) my 2 cents.

Iv been wanting to write a reply to this post for some time.. just in-between having my daughter born and finding time for the internet is very hard.. anyway here goes.

Both the parts you currently own are going to require a lot of custom medication. Your civic has a b16 engine in it, the supercharger you already own off a accord, I’m assuming comes with a accord supercharger intake manifold, this manifold will not fit on your car, so you would require a lot of custom modifications to make this fit, it would be a lot cheaper to source a b16 supercharger kit to suit your engine than use what you have.

To cut a long story short, whilst supercharging is a great option, and I have many clients using them, the charger you currently own is useless for your current application.

The turbo you own t28 is something you can make work. although you would need to still purchase a t28 turbo manifold to suit a b16 engine, as well as source injectors, intercooler, piping oil feeds etc. the turbo as long as you sourced all the other correct parts could be used for your car. My advise sell the supercharger as from what your saying its completely incompatible with your current engine, and use the money to finish off building a custom turbo kit for your civic. Remember the list of things you require to turbo your civic is quit extensive.

With regards to a car running smoother on a supercharger vs turbo charger, that’s not really the case, how smooth a car runs is totally dependent on the setup and the tune. The limits on supercharging tho are much greater than turbo charging, where the sky is almost the limit. With supercharging you get great response, but are limited in so many ways in creating good power.
